The Fourth Trimester: Planning for Postpartum & Beyond

“There is a sacred window of time. A time for complete rejuvenation of a woman’s physical, mental, and spiritual health. A time for deep, extended bonding with her newborn. The first 40 days after birth set the stage for her next 40 years.”
--Ysha Oakes, Doula & Founder of ‘The Sacred Window’

The “4th Trimester,” also known as the postpartum period, is a transformative time in a woman’s life. After all, when a baby is born, so is a mother. For some, this period of time can be more challenging than even pregnancy or childbirth. It is also often an afterthought and not thoroughly prepared for. It’s the last few pages of the “What to Expect” books and many medical models go weeks in-between seeing postpartum people with care ending at 6-8 weeks after childbirth, when the postpartum period is far from over.

This workshop will provide holistic information, tools for support, and a plan to prepare for a peaceful postpartum. We will explore:
-Physical/emotional recovery after childbirth
-Ancient & traditional postpartum care
-Building a “village” of support
-Nourishing foods to support healing + herbal care
-Navigating newborn sleep, feeding, & the early days

The class is for those who are pregnant/expecting, partners/support people, TTC or planning for the future, currently postpartum *babies in arms are welcome*, birth workers/doulas, and anyone who is interested in being able to better support new families.

The cost for this workshop is $45 ($60 for couples) which includes all materials, nourishing snacks, herbs to take home, and community.
