“When a baby is born, so is a mother.

-Julia Jones, Postpartum Doula and Founder of Newborn Mothers

What is a postpartum doula?

A postpartum doula supports mothers and families as they navigate life with a newborn, as well as the birth of a mother/parent. This care varies greatly and often includes practical, as well as emotional support. "Mother-centered" care operates from the belief that providing holistic care to the mother enables her to fully rest and heal. Which in turn allows her to pass that wholeness and care to her baby, family, and later, community.

In previous generations, new families were able to rely on one another in ways that modern society makes challenging – a postpartum doula fills this necessary healthcare gap.

About

I have the immense honor of serving mothers and families during the 4th trimester.

I have a deep passion for birth and postpartum, and believe that every mother deserves to be nourished & nurtured as they navigate a new chapter of life. After all, when a baby is born, so is a mother.

As a self-taught cook, I love to support postpartum families with nourishing meals that assist in healing, lactation, and the joy of a warm, thoughtful meal. I am a Certified Postpartum Doula through the Newborn Mother’s Collective that focuses on holistic, mother-centered support. I am also currently working to become a Certified Lactation Educator and Postpartum Practitioner with INNATE Traditions.

Most importantly, I am a mother to two boys who have taught me so much and whose lives have guided me to this fulfilling work.
